Angel of death you came along
Full of song, and she did no wrong
Life she coveted
Death inherited
Her whole lifelong, she was so strong
Death had no right, did not belong
ANGEL OF DEATH, you stole her soul!

So tired, so sad, I said goodnight
Asked her care from fear and fright
Fate dispirited
Death inherited
I cried the night, till dawn daylight
How could you leave, I'm so contrite
ANGEL OF DEATH, you stole her soul!

The day we wed, the vows we read
The love we fed from heart and head
Love exhibited
Death inherited
How could I know, what was ahead
The fear I dread, and now you're dead
ANGEL OF DEATH, you stole her soul!

Those many times I held her hand
Love in command, yet never bland
Bold, so spirited
Death inherited
The sands of time…define…demand
I wish I knew, could understand
ANGEL OF DEATH, you stole her soul!

So hard I try, the truth deny
From God's blue sky, does edify
Peace prohibited
Death inherited
I breathed a sigh, this life awry
With tear in eye, why did you die?
ANGEL OF DEATH, you stole her soul!
