    * A LOVER'S GIFT  *

If I were but a rich man
I'd buy you diamonds and pearls
Sweep you off like superman
With your hair done up in curls

If I were but a rich man
I’d dress you in classy clothes
Ask a flashy cameraman
To capture your pretty pose

But I am not a rich man
Can't give you treasures of gold
Furs or trips to foreign land
Crown, a throne, to there behold

A simple gift I hand you
From the bottom of my heart
Myself, my love, I give you
Til the end, in death depart
