* I TOUCHED HER SOUL *

The first time, ever I saw her
My heart some how she stole
All else in life seemed but a blur
For I had touched her soul

And in my heart I heard a song
Venetian barcarole
It sang so clear and all night long
For I had touched her soul

Features so fine and delicate
Angelic heart so whole
Cultured and pure, compassionate
For I had touched her soul

My mind ran wild, much like a child
Her body I did scroll
No page unturned…each reconciled
For I had touched her soul

What shall I find within her heart?
So full…no shallow shoal
A loving heart…a real sweetheart
For I had touched her soul

I wanted now to be with her
To ask and then cajole
No obstacle, could she deter
For I had touched her soul

Excitement in me ran amuck
Must keep my self-control
Was I to act, like some young buck?
For I had touched her soul

To be so wise…my heart did cry
Pursuit of her my goal
Her beauty gleamed before my eye
For I had touched her soul

Today, tomorrow, forever
Near by her side to stroll
Seeking her love, my endeavor
For I had touched her soul
